A ladder 25m long just reaches the top of a building 24m high from the ground. Find the distance of the foot of the ladder from the building.

Given:

length of ladder= 25 m

building height=24 m

By pythagoras theorem ,

\(x^2=25^2 -24^2\)

=625-576

x2=49

x= 7

Hence the answer is 7 m
