12 g of carbon is the molar mass of carbon and 12 u of carbon is the mass of one carbon atom

since ,

1u= 1 atomic mass unit =1.661\(\times 10^{-27} kg\)

\(\therefore \) 12u = 19.93 \(\times 10^{-27}\) kg

and  12 g= 12\(\times 10^{-3}kg\)
