Best answer

Given :: mass of Carbon = 24 g , mass of carbon dioxide =88g

Find : mass of oxygen

Solution ::

\(\begin{matrix} C & +\space O_2 & \rightarrow CO_2\\ 24g & ? & 88g \end{matrix}\)

\(\therefore\) mass of oxygen = mass of carbon dioxide - mass of carbon

=88-24 = 64 g

mass of oxygen used in this equation is 64 g
