Media is now a gateway between a person’s popularity and success or scrutiny and failure. This success or failure is propagated through social media, newspapers, magazines and TV networks, etc. It has become the backbone of most democratic countries. Without media news cannot reach the common man’s ears. Without media the citizens of a country cannot get a picture of who they’re voting for. But the people don’t want all the hype and fuss the media creates, we want a crystal clear idea of who we’re voting for. But the media tends to rely only on the sensation that is being relieved into the society and does not hold value to actual events taking place and doesn’t project events as they are. It inflates unnecessary uproars into the society’s mood and distracts the masses from more important affairs at the moment. Media feeds on sensationalism and by that we mean content that is not researched properly, eye catching, shocking, controversial, etc.
