Correct Answer - Option 4 : 880 km from station A

Given :

Two trains start from point A and B

Distance between them is 1800 km

Speed of trains are 44 and 46 km/hour respectively

Concept and formula used :

Time = Distance/Speed

Relative speed

Speeds are added when vehicles run in the opposite direction

Speeds are subtracted when vehicles run in the same direction

Calculations :

Relative speed = 44 + 46 = 90 km/hour

Time taken to meet = 1800/90 = 20 hours

Distance travelled by train running from A = speed × time

⇒ 44 × 20

⇒ 880 km

∴ Distance from station A will be 880 km
