A cube 25 mm edge is placed centrally on the top of another square block of 40 mm edge and 15 mm thick. Draw the isometric drawing of two solids.

(i) Draw two isometric axes AB and AD of length 40 mm, each making an angle of 30° with the horizontal line. Draw BC and CD parallel to AD and AB respectively and meeting at C.

(ii) Draw vertical lines from A, B, C and D, each of length 15 mm. Complete the isometric view of the square block.

(iii) Locate centre of rhombus EFGH and construct another rhombus E'F'G'H' with same centre and side 25 mm, such that sides E'F', F'G', etc. are parallel to EF, FG, etc.

(iv) Complete the isometric view of cube.
