A person swims 100 m in the first 40 s, 80 m in the next 40 s and 45 m in the last 20 s. What is the average speed?

formula for velocity is given as;

\(v=x/t\)

therefore,

v1=x1/t1=100m/40sec=2.5m/s.

v2=x2/t2=80m/40sec=2m/s

v3=x3/t3=45m/20sec=2.25m/s

\(Vavg={V1+V2+V3\over3}\).=2.25m/s
